We all need to get down the job centre and look for temporary digital transformation jobs – as someone has just taken home £115,000 for six months’ work.
Highland Council paid the lucky interim head of digital transformation £40,000 more than the role’s normal £77,000 salary.
Understandably, some people are a little put out about the high wages, none less so than opposition leader Maxine Smith, who now wants answers.
However, according to the Daily Record, the council’s chairman of corporate resources, Alister Mackinnon, has defended the pay out, claiming that the role was posted as a temporary position last November – which doesn’t seem like any kind of argument at all to me.
Let’s just hope the interim head did some of the best digital transformation ever, which I’m sure they did.
