Socitm plans to release nearly 150 pieces of content annually, as part of its revamped research service, Socitm Inform. These will include monthly reports, video and graphics, and a quarterly message from the president.
Speaking to members of the Local Public Services CIO Council, Martin Ferguson, Socitm’s director of policy and research, said that Socitm’s work in this area will be available through a larger number of pieces of content of different types and formats.
The society has trialled some of these, including member briefings, over the last few months. Others planned include bulletins of aggregated news, material from local authority chief executives’ body Solace and advice from other members.
Ferguson said that Socitm’s research will continue to focus on four key topics: digital leadership, health and well-being, workforce diversity and cybersecurity.
The meeting also discussed ways in which councils have developed broadband coverage in their areas, common procurement of technology for smart places and improvements to NHS Digital’s information governance toolkit designed to involve care homes.
